Guest guest
Jane, I a three weeks post op and I had a massage last week but the theraptist used a pillow (I put the pillow between my knees) and I laid on my side the entire time. It felt great ...... Ask you person if they can do that.. She came to my house and if fact she is coming again this week.. I think that the massage has helped my swelling reduce. QUESTION... do you have lots of tingling in your face? Sadie janepapillion wrote: Hi, I am also a side sleeper. About week 2 (I know its soon) I started propping my hands under my temples so my head was flat on my pillow but my jaw wasn't touching. Honestly it started worrying me so now I just lay flat on my back. I thought about having a massage and instead of laying on my stomach just staying on my back the whole time. Guest guest
I had a lot oftingling constantly in my face week 3 and week 4. Now I have full feeling back on the left side and complete numbness from mid cheek down on the left side. I worry because I heard the tingling was my feeling coming back which it did on one side but the other is just numb now. I have feeling in half of my bottom lip and chin and complete numbness in half my bottom lip and chin. It is weird. Sometimes I wake up and am sleeping onmy side and get nervous I am putting too much pressure on my jaw and lay flat. Guest guest
Yes I am 5 weeks post op tomorrow. I get unwired Friday. I had upper moved forward and widened and lower moved back and to the left. I think I mistyped-my left has feeling my right is numb I can't think sraight lately, literally. I went to the grocery store tonight and realized I had no idea what I needed to get. Eventually it came back to me. I have a splint in my mouth so really can't talk understandably. I still have to use a syringe to drink liquids or my zip and squeeze bags (I've sort of given up on them although they worked well for a while) I drink whole milk with chocolate instant carnation in it, vanilla shakes, juice, the dreaded Boost. That's about it For a while I did good and pureed things (they were usually not thin enough to get a lot in ) I did soups for a while, smoothies (cold is still sensitive on the inside of my mouth) but I've just sort of kept it simple lately to get by. My eyes just seem tired lately. Maybe that's it. Also, my lower lids are still a bit numb. How long til you can eat regular semi soft foods? Guest guest
Friday I will have the wires removed and the splint!! I can start soft foods then and hope things will take a turn for the better! So how do you like your results? Can you tell a difference yet or are you still too swollen. I am getting use to my new seemly smaller centered chin. It makes quite a difference to me. Also my face was a little hollow in the cheek area and now its a little fuller. More pronounced. So how is the baby spoon working with numbness? That has to be hard. Guest guest
Cammie, I'm back from Chattanooga (what a long drive although I slep most of the way). It is 2:30 am and I can't go to sleep from the nervousness/excitement. I get unwired after 35 days at 11:00 today!! I nearlky keeled over on my trip. I had to go back to the hotel after house hunting. I hadn't had a lot to drink, the realitor was weaving and swerving all around town, I was in the back seat, it was hot and I got nautious! I stripped and got in the bed at the Sheraton and cried and begged my husband to just take me to get an IV. I am totally immaciated at 104lbs. Insteads he got me a can of chicken broth and heated it in the coffee pot. It did the trick. We found the house of our dreams but is under negotiations and now we are back in Louisiana. If I was wired for one more day I seriously don't thinkI could hack it. My only fear now is the unwiring. I am more afraid of not being able to eat still than of pain. I better get going to bed. Jane I'll keep ya'll posted. > > Yes, I can tell a BIG difference...
