Alyssa...I can't personally recommend Azathioprine. After 9 years of what had been diagnosed as UC, my diagnosis was changed to Crohn's after I got a fistula. I went on Remicade (which I said I would never do) and TPN. Four months later I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis (which may be drug-induced hepatitis but the doctors can't tell for sure) and went on a high dose of prednsone. The hepatologist claimed that the normal drug routine included Azathioprine, even though the Prednisone was working. So I followed his directions, but wouldn't you know it - all my liver functions went UP UP UP (AST, ALT, alkaline phosphatase) even though I wasn't even at high enough dose to be considered therapeutic. So I might be an anomoly b/c there was already liver damage, but this stuff can be really, really hepatotoxic. Please be careful if

you do decide to go this route. I have to get my liver tested every 2 weeks now, sometimes every week. I know your colon is very important to you, but think of how important your liver is!!If you are looking for a doctor that can prescribe LDN, email this woman Crystal and she will send you a list. You can see them in person or maybe do phone consults.angelindisguiseldn@...Also, a woman named Dr. Rappaport (Haven Medical) in Chapel Hill is a wonderful doctor who does alot of nutritional healing among other things. You can google her. She is kind and compassionate and really smart. I live in FL and saw her last fall on a visit to NC. She is actually the one that recommended SCD to me. She might prescribe you LDN.I really want to try LDN for my Crohn's and AIH but I am on Remicade and you can't take it if you are on a immunosuppressant. I would definitely try that before the Azathioprine if you can. What

have you got to lose? You aren't in so bad a flare that hospitalization is imminent are you?I hope you get better and find lots of information that will help you make the right decision. Please feel free to email me if you want to talk more about the meds or the doctors. I can also forward you the doctor list that I have for LDN.CarolineRemicade for Crohn'sPrednisone for AIHSCD since 1/7/2010!!!

Dr. Rappaport used to live near me. I was not her patient, but I knew her and I

have not seen her since she moved to Chapel Hill. I recently heard about her

practice and it sounded very exciting. How nice to see she is doing well.
