Hello,

My husband just phoned me from Calif. where we are moving with the

choices for health insurance. We have until Thursday to decide for

the next year. In Aug. of 2004, we will be able to make a change if

necessary. If any of you are familiar with any of these, will you

please e-mail me and let me know your thoughts.

Blue Cross " K " Plan

HMO - Blue Cross

PPO - (Will probably be too expensive)

Kaiser of CA Plan

We have had Kaiser in the past (post WLS) and I had not problems

arise. Just don't know if they cover WLS related problems. I am

knocking on wood as I have not suffered any complications since

surgery almost 4 years ago. Believe me, I thank God very often. We

are very lucky as they are not making us wait for the usual waiting

period to begin insurance so we have to decide fast.

Thanks so much.

Hi Diane,

I am a lurker but thought I would chime in on this

one.

Kaiser in Calif is different in some ways than it is

in other states. In Cali it is the largest health

provider. They offer more but it is still the Kaiser

Network. You see Kaiser drs for everything. They have

their own hospitals and like I said they are the

biggest carrier. So they do alot of business.

I am a child of Kaiser, I was born in one their

hospitals in southern california. It is huge. Really

huge. As I got older I use to feel as though I was

lost in the system.

Just think about that when making your decision.
