Guest guest
Dan, first of all, congratulations! It's certianly unusual for her to have been pregnant when they performed the surgery. But, there have been quite a few, as I'm sure you'll see on the OSSG-Pregnant list, who've gotten pregnant soon after. I believe a very high percentage go on to have healthy babies. It just takes constant monitoring, so make sure your OB/GYN is up to the task. As for those hospital pregnancy tests, one of my single, 37 year old girlfriends was going in for a different surgery, had the test, the nurse came in and said " sit down. " She then told her the test came back positive, she was pregnant. My girlfriend freaked out, was so upset that she didn't know what to do. The nurse said as a routine, they will do the test again and, well, you guessed it...negative. Maybe we should all do home pregnancy tests before we go in for surgery, just in case. Well, good luck to you both, and please keep us informed. She is pregnant. We are both in shock and really really scared and uncertain right now. We have consultations with her ob/gyn coming up and we will be seeking shared experiences on the > OSSG-Pregnant group. > > Just wanted to post, cause I do not know what else to do at the moment. > > Dan Slone >

Guest guest
Boy, that is a plate full. Although it is of little help to you, I am thankful I am not in that position. Best wishes on whatever you decide to do.
