When I was awaiting my RNY, I decided not to let running away from it to be an option, even tho I was sure I wouldn't pull thru it. Guest guest
It is perfectly normal to get scared. Every single one of us has went through that and it doesn't matter what kind of surgery a person has---its expected to get nervous beforehand. I am happy to tell you that my surgery was months ago and I have not regretted it once since then. The days before my surgery were tough and I got sooooo nervous I couldn't even sleep at night. I made a point of reminding myself why I wanted the surgery. I just kept focusing on the positive things about the surgery--how I would be able to have a life again, do things with my family, wear normal clothes, feel better about myself, etc. I would suggest that you do your best to keep yourself busy, (idle time can be worry time) and make a list of reasons why you want the surgery and keep reminding yourself. Also, imagine the new you! Take care and keep us posted. Bridget Northam > Someone please give me a good word of advice... I am starting to get > scared... help....
