I was very high doses of steriods for 5 yrs and I gained about 150lbs. when I found my Neuro dr I see now He properly dxd me with NS and put me inpatient and got me off the roids fast because I was toxic, my blood sugar was just about 600 I couldn't see, my blood pressure was really high even with bp meds. and the swelling was soo bad I had the moon face, when I looked in the mirror I didn't see at all. He started me on plaquniel and Imuran and within about 9 months I lost mostly all the weight I no longer have high blood sugar, or high blood pressure. You do not know how it feels to see the old me back in the mirror. Now that was 7 years ago.. now a few months now I have been in a flare and was in the hospital in Nov and on IV steriods at home twice now since than. And I see in my hands how swelled my fingers are... I call them sausages LMAO and even thou I did not gain any weight my face looks fuller to me, no one else can see it , but I do.

but just relax and worry bout losing the weight when your completely off the steriods Cherisse.

Hello everyone just a little check note.

The last time I saw my neurologist was the 2nd of December, a he decided to drop my steroids to 7.5 mg, down from 10 mg. When I did drop the steroids I was experiencing dizzy spells and headaches which I hadn't had in a while. But Im really scared because this year it will be 2 years since I have been on steroids, and sometimes it makes me think that maybe I might be on them forever or even life. I wish this monster will go away

Has anyone lost any weight whilst on steroids?
