Guest guest
Hi Jenn, Thanks for your responses and sharing your experiences with me. It sounds like it wont be a big deal. I guess the psych part has the most potential to bring up stuff from our past. I think that most people going through this process probably have some things that are upsetting to them. I had to do some therapy in the past for similar issues and it definitely was helpfull. Thanks for the encouragement. Guest guest
Hey , I am glad to hear there is someone else here in the about the same spot. I am so excited to finally get this process started, just a little unsure of what to expect. My PCP told me after the mettings with the nutritioninst and psych evaluation then he will send off his reccomendation to the surgeon. After that they send out an acceptance letter and then you go to orientation. From there I am not to sure either. I do know that we are suppose to lose 10% of our weight and I think there may be some other nutrition classes that we have to take. From what I read the whole process is suppose to take about a year, although I am hoping I can get to surgery by the end of this year. Keep me posted on your progress. > Hi all, > > I have finally gotten a reccomendation from my PCP for the surgery and > so my journeey begins. Guest guest
Im in Hayward, so I will probably go to the Freemont program (at least that is what the nutritionist said). I know it sounds so discouraging to have to wait so long. I have waited so long already to get to this point that another year seems like forever. At the same time, I am sure the time will go by fast. If you are going to Freemont then you can start losing the 10% now, other wise the other programs make you wait until orientation. I have decided for myself to start changing my eating habits now, that way the weight loss and change after surgery will be easier. In terms of having to wait, just hang in there. It will happen. Take care, > > Hi all, > > > > I have finally gotten a reccomendation from my PCP for the surgery > and > > so my journeey begins.
