Guest guest
, First good day and may you be blessed. Now I also have Neurosarcoidosis with the swiss memory but also balance issues. Doing surprisingly well lately. Ok what type of job do you have and are you on Prednisone? The reason I ask is I tried to go back to work once and had a major flare up and had issues with relating with co-workers due to the Prednisone side effects. I am working to change Meds and get on Humira and off Prednisone. I am a Master Tech for Mercedes-Benz. The will not let me come back to work again until I prove my memory and balance has improved. Can you imagne forgeting to put oil back into a motor or forgetting to torque the wheel bolts. That could cost a life. So I guess it depends on your job and what you have to do. If you are on Prednisone do you any anger issues, are you short temper? I am all of these right now tho I think I am doing a good job of controling it right now. I hope you can go back work cause I am going stir carzy here. well the end of this month I will find out if Humira is working and if I can start weaning off Prednisone. I do wish you luck and blessings on going back to work.Just be sure of your memory and co worker interaction. Greg aka Krumdawg " Has anyone seen where I put my........? " > > It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad. Seems like some days they listen and other days they don't. My long term memory seem to be fairly intact, where as my short term memory is Swiss cheese. I am going to try to go back to work at the end of the month, but sort of not sure how my boss and co workers will look at me. I know I am not the same as before. How does one deal with that. > > > > >

Guest guest
Jackie, your story is very similar to mine. Except its my left side. MRI showed lesions so they diagnosed MS, then I got bilateral panuveitis so they scanned me looking for sarcoid and couldn't find it so back to MS, this for 5 years. Then a galium scan they found it in my lymph nodes in my chests. But it turns out that before the neurological stuff started I had those red welts on my shins but they were misdiagnosed too. I go to the gym to try and keep everything moving but I have had to start using a walking stick all the time this year. Now my right leg is starting to go and they are suggesting I get a walking frame. I don't know why but Í've become really upset and angry since being rediagnosed just a few weeks ago, even though I've had this thing for years. Guest guest
Until I saw these postings, I was actually beginning to wonder if I was losing my mind. I too have been suffering memory loss (as if it's on the tip of your tongue kind of thing but can't remember until like sometimes hours or days later what I wanted to say). Also, I mispronounce more works than EVER, it's terrible I even couldn't pronounce the simplest word, (I can't remember at the moment while I type this but I'll just give an example), " boxing match " . I'd either say something like " bocking mitch " or " mocksing mach " . I get the letters mixed up or the words I'm thinking come out wrong when I say them. Oh! And I remember now, yesterday I was talking and was saying " I don't know why some people get so 'an-J-er' " , mispronouncing the word " anger " -I pronounced the " G " as a J sound as in Jersey. I forget the most obvious things so quickly and even call the wrong family names at the wrong family members at times. I even a few times forgot my niece's name as she stood right in front of me although I babysit her almost every week! I bite my tongue pretty often too (literally) as I speak and I suffer pretty much daily headaches. I see in many post people talking Vit. B12. I've never taken any vitamins and have been really bad on talking my folic acid. I only take my methotrexate (20mg once a week). I just bought some vitamins yesterday and will get another prescription for my folic acid and see if that helps. > > > > > > From: brianryan_99 <brianryan_99@> > > Subject: Re: Short Term/Long Term Menory and Sarcoid > > To: Neurosarcoidosis > > Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 2:35 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad. Guest guest
I just turned 25 years old, so I can't blame it on my age, I was diagnosed when I was 12yrs old. Woke up completely deaf and later had facial paralysis, extreme muscle weakness (in which I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes without my legs suddenly giving out) and some type of " lump " in my right eye. At the time I was the worlds " known " youngest living Neurosarcoidosis patient that my doctors had ever seen. It took them one full year to diagnose me b/c they never even considered Neurosarcoidosis at my age, they tested me for one solid year for Meningitis (needless to say, allllll of the test were negative). I actually ended up developing meningitis the same year I was diagnosed with Neurosarcoidosis. > > > > > > > > > From: brianryan_99 <brianryan_99@> > > > Subject: Re: Short Term/Long Term Menory and Sarcoid > > > To: Neurosarcoidosis > > > Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 2:35 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad. Guest guest
Oh, my goodness! It is so great seeing someone with the same history as I have had for years -- even since childhood. I just turned 58 in September; however, as a child my grandmother stated that I was the " youngest old person (she) had ever seen. " That's because I suffered from short-term memory even then. I only recently (11 years ago)was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. By the time I was diagnosed I had gone through numerous tests. Only when I almost went blind did they perform an MRI, which diclosed not only lung sarcoidosis but hidrocephalus as well. As a child I suffered from head and stomach problems - which no one could figure out. I also had cramps in the knees that caused me to fall sometimes when running during gym. I am glad to have someone who can relate to me!Now that I am unemployed, however, I am scared because I have no insurance now; and there is no telling what else could happen to me. Right now, I am having problems with my neck and lower back, which I understand is also associated with sarcoidosis! Any of you have this type of pain? > > > > > > > > > > > > From: brianryan_99 <brianryan_99@> > > > > Subject: Re: Short Term/Long Term Menory and Sarcoid > > > > To: Neurosarcoidosis > > > > Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 2:35 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad.
