Guest guest
Hi Newbie, I had the surgery for sleep apnea also. It was successful. I was not on CPAP yet, but the docs felt that my problem was definitly related to the position of the upper and lower jaw. I would be glad to answer any questions you may have. You may email me directly if you wish. a > > Hello, I am in Braces and will be having Advancement surgery > sometime in 2005. Guest guest
TammyWelcome to this great group. I'm not in the Vacaville area, but my PCP set up the dietitian and psych appointments. First the dietitian then she said yes and sent him a note, then he set up the psych app.. Which was just questions like, " Why do you want this WLS?" "What have you done to lose weight before now?" "What do you know about this surgery?" "Do you know the risk?" "Do you belong to a support group yet?" "What have you improved since you've seen the dietitian?" "Do you have a support person?" Then as far as classes I'm not sure where you are if there is or not. Hope this helps some. You will get more answers. Take care. I am scheduled to meet the dietician on 05/30 in Vacaville. Has anyone gone there before and if so what should I expect? Will they require me to take the series of classes? Also do I need to call for my psych. appt. or will the dietician schedule that while I am there? Any info is appreciated. Thanks Tammy Donna JordonDSJordon@... New Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Hey Tammy, Welcome to the group. I am just beggining the process too. I had my appointment with the nutritionist a couple of weeks ago. I am not in the Vacaville area but I can tell you what I experienced. The dietician just asked about my current eating habbits (I had to bring in a three day log of what I ate), what I had tied in the past, and then she explained the surgery and answered any questions I had. I think they may require you to take a class. Some people have mentioned that here (I think it depends on your program and the reccomendations of the Doctors and nutritionist). As for the psych evaluation, the nutritionist put in the request for an appointment. Unfortunately, in the Freemont program there is a very long waiting list to get an appointment (about 3 months) so I am still waiting for my psych evaluation. Hopefully you wont have to wait as long. Dont worry too much about the appointment, it really isn't a big deal. Good luck to you! > > Hello everyone, > > I am new to the site, so I would firt like to say hello before I pound > you with my many questions.
