Guest guest
I was in my last job for 8 years and at the top of my company, which is currently the #1 Mutual Fund company in the industry. I was a corporate trainer for almost 5 years and went on to specialize in sales for Retirement Plans. I also have a college degree with a 3.2 grade point average. However, now I feel like I've just graduated from high school and not qualified for anything. A big part of me wants to go back to school, maybe nursing, but that's really hard when you have kids and you're living on one income. Anywho, I hope you find something soon. It is nice to know that I'm not the only one. I just never imagined when I quite my job for a year to take care of Aidan it would be this hard to get back in. Of course, I'm probably being too picky but I'm not ready to drop my standards. Shook wrote: I am with you all the way Jenn. I had my previous job for 13 years. I haven't been in the job hunting game since 1992. I have no clue as to what employers look for. Obviously not what I've been doing. I am as frustrated as you! There is no first impression, no chance to win them over with your charm :-). Nothing, just a piece of paper sent through the internet that they are comparing to 2000 other applicants. After no call back for the 10th time I'm beginning to think how the heck I ever got my first job!!! :-) Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Don’t worry! The right job is waiting for you. Are you thinking about putting your picture on your resume also? I am curious about that….never heard of it before. Guest guest
I know what you mean. I could get a job at Target tomorrow. However, I don't want to leave my field yet or give up looking just yet. By the way, just to make myself clear, I love Target and I wouldn't mind working there. With young kiddos at home, I don't want to work weekends or nights. We will find something soon. Keep plugging away! Guest guest
has anyone considered substitute teaching or becoming a teacher's assistant? I used to do that for a while. You can pick which days you want to work, plus no nights or weekends, if that's what you're looking for. The only reason I don't do that anymore is because I now work are a private instrumental music instructor in the local public school. I still get to make up my schedule. Anyway, it's just a thought. Most towns are always looking for subs. - Michele 5/18/02 and Maddie 9/6/05 bcf mitchells 23/7 Shook wrote: I know what you mean. I could get a job at Target tomorrow.
