Guest guest
HI . Im in Bay Point. I had my surgery August 19,2003. I started at 315pounds, dropped to 283 prior to surgery, got as low as 150. Right now Im at 165. So Im struggling with a 15 pound regain. Part of it is from making wrong food choices, part is from lagging on exercise, and a small part is a normal rebound gain. Hang in there. The 10% really allows you to make the new habits that will serve you in the long run, a normal part of your new life. My biggest advice is to strictly adhere to post op " rules " and take advantage of your first six month post op honeymoon period where you lose the majority of your weight because it will never again come off as fast. As for the 10%, I lost mine doing atkins, and exercising like crazy. I need to find that strong motivation again. My motivation pre op was my fear of NOT having the surgery. I need to pull on that fear and apply it to NOT going back. SIGH...its a life long battle. > > Hi , > > I am in Antioch. > When did you have your surgery? > I'm having a hard time loosing the 10%. > > Thank you > >
Guest guest
I had to chuckle when I read this because I finially got back to my pre- pregnancy weight and my kids are 27 and 29! That is so sad to think it took me 29 years! But I did it and only have 37lbs to go to hit my pre- marriage wieght (also my personal goal). And I now know I CAN do it. I have to admit that I have been letting up on my excercising for about 2 1/2 weeks. And I can sure feel it. But I have done a little self butt- kicking and am ready to get back to what I know I need to stay healthy and in the end happier too. Guest guest
That's great Peggy. I don't think I will ever see my pre-pg wt ever again since it was 117. Too low!! I am aiming for 145 when I finally get the surgery done. Or whatever the dr suggests.pegmo1212 wrote: I had to chuckle when I read this because I finially got back to my pre-pregnancy weight and my kids are 27 and 29! Today, I had the psychical and talked to Dr. Baggs. The lady that did the psychical, couldn't believe how all my tests came out great. Nothing wrong with me. Don't smoke, Don't take medication, don't drink, not even coffee. She was so surprise. Dr. Baggs was also impressed on how well, I have done and what great shape I'm in. (except for being over weight) They both said, everything should be OK. I go Monday morning to Richmond, I have to be there at 7:00am, with surgery at 8:00 am Please keep me in your prayers.
