Guest guest
This is a " therapy " you can try and see if it helps. From the very first appointment 2 years ago, my neurologist adamantly stressed at each meeting to remember to go to bed at the same time each night and to wake up at the same time every morning. She stressed to try to be within 15 minutes of this each day. Apparently, there is a cumulative effect and a very sensitive nervous system can get out of whack easily. I have read this numerous times in the literature for headaches and nerve conditions. The recommendation for day lights savings time is to not change 1 full hour in one night, but to change in 15-20 minute increments over a few nights. That is getting pretty picky, in my opinion, but it shows how important this is. We did do this, and I could clearly see the difference in the boys and myself if we stayed up an extra hour. If we stayed up more than 2 hours, we were completely trashed the next day. I was amazed at the difference 1 hour made. Sensory issues, stimming, transitioning, language, etc. were always better when we stuck to the schedule. Since starting the enzymes/diet, we don't seem to have to be so exact about it, but apparently the timing for sleep and wake does matter. My doctor says she reasonably " cures " a fair number of children by getting their parents to adhere to a definite schedule. This is a cheap thing that is pretty easy to try, so maybe it will help someone. .
