Dear ,

Dr. Ren DOES have a nurse practioner(Gio)that has been with her from

her start at NYU. He also attends alot of the various bariatric

conferences with Dr. Ren. Gio did my history and physical and takes

my vitals and writes my prescriptions for the ADEKs, etc. during my

follow-ups before I see Dr. Ren. Gio spent a good hour with me

before my first consult with Dr. Ren. I also call Gio when I have a

simple question instead of bothering Dr. Ren with minor things. Gio

is also the one who removes the post-ops drains, staples, etc...

Forgive my poor choice of words. My post WAS NOT a slam against PAs or NPs.

Dr. Ren does have a superb PA, Gio, whom I met at a later visit. The point I

had been trying to make, poorly though I may have done it, was that Dr. Ren

is a dedicated, effective physician who concerns herself with all aspects of

her patients' care. As a sidebar, after the surgery, I had some intermittent

pain which had me scared (later turned out to probably be pockets of gas

which dissipated when I put my feet up-go figure). I was up worrying at 4:oo

a.m and sent off an e-mail to her, figuring she would reply when she opened

her office. I received her reply at 5:00 a.m.; she may be nuts to be reading

e-mail at 5 am (who am I to say, I was writing it at 4 LOL!)but she was able

to set my mind at ease just knowing that she was paying attention!
