Guest guest
We had a healthy debate a while back about cream of tartar, and I thought I would add some info to the confusion. My husband and I recently went on a little vacation to Hermann, Missouri, this little German wine hub of Missouri. Their wine is awesome, but back to the point, we toured Stone Hill Winery. The guide was telling us that tartar settles to the bottom of the wine vats. It is a by-product of the yeast that they use to make their wine. She said that they sell their tartar to spice companies, and then they make cream of tartar from it. So not only is cream of tartar a yeast product, but it also may be unsuitable for those with grape, yeast, and/or alcohol allergies, like our son. ===== __________________________________________________
