Dawn-Marie,

How have you been? I want to discuss with you the tendon transfer thing via

private email but I can’t find it! Can you email me at cgerace@...

so we can talk? Christian has the same surgery coming up.

When I sent the email with pictures to Dr.P. I sent bearing weight

pictures, front/side/top/back views. At the time I had asked the group

which pictures to send.

I would guess that because the tendons are not as strechable as muscles is

the reason for the surgery. Most of our children have the tenonomy done

because the tendon does not strech enough for the heel to seat properly in

the shoes so my theory is the ATT is done for similar reasoning.

His foot doesn't necessarily pull to the clubfoot position it almost looks

like he is standing a cigar and his foot curls with the shape of it.

I will send Dr. P more pictures as time goes on, closer to the surgery,

but I had actually noticed that rolls his foot to the outside while

walking. It has gotten better since he is becoming more mobile but it is

significant enough that others have noticed it with out my pointing it out.

Best~

Dr. Ponseti told us when he saw Lucas that he will definitely need

this done on the right foot, and most likely the left as well

between 2-3 years. He's only 1 now....I'm not sure how he can tell

right away that he'll need it down the road, but ours is a difficult

case also.
