Dear Carole,

Early on post-op I brought a container of yogurt or cottage cheese

with fruit or rolled deli ham, cheese and turkey, etc... and took a

few bites here and there throughout the day. Now, I usually bring

some leftovers in a container or some soup, or a sandwich, some tuna,

chicken or egg salad, etc. I also keep some cashews and string cheese

in my office fridge for snacks. Basically, I now eat like I did

before, just less. Early on post-op, I just needed a few bites at a

time so it would never interfere with working. Now, I take a regular

lunch and I don't need to eat as often. If I feel that I want/need a

snack, a handful of nuts or a string cheese will be good.

Carole,

When I first went back to work, I took things like string cheese and lunch

meat to work. I would take a break every two hours or so and nibble a bit.

Now (18 weeks postop), I bring whatever I happen to be eating at the time. I

bring it in the smallest of those little disposable type containers, and

basically just eat the same thing for awhile. Last week my son put a slice

of meatloaf into a container, and I ate it for lunch and snacks for two days

at work. One week I brought a bowl of homemade soup, and ate it for lunches

for a week. I don't mind eating the same thing more than once, so it is just

easier for me this way.
