Guest guest
I need some gentle reminders of how sugar and carbs are like poison. WHAT CAN I EAT? I had the Lap BPD/DS. It's a distal (high malabsorption) surgery and my intake is pretty much what it was pre-op. I can drink with my meals because the stomach functions the same as it did pre-op it just got shrunk. I'll be two years post-op the end of October. Today... I'm going to open myself up and tell you honestly what I ate. (squirm) BREAKFAST 20 ounce (super huge) Non-Fat Vanilla Bean Latte. Someone once told me to switch to half/half, but it's just TOO rich for me. I don't do Sugar Free stuff because I do not want the Nutrasweet. 2 Chicken Crispitos Yep, the deep fried Crispitos for breakfast. LUNCH Two chicken soft tacos, heavy on chicken, light lettuce, and some cheddar. House made tortilla chips. Only ate one soft tortilla, ate the insides of the second taco. 1 cup of Fresh fruit (kiwi, grapes, raspberries, pineapple) AFTERNOON SNACK Twix and Starburst... (I know that this is REALLY a BAD choice pre-op and post-op for anyone) Is it because I'm going to have a period again rather than pregnancy or stress or just because I'm STUPID. I know that once in awhile it's okay to flub and have CRAP, but daily, weekly is NOT okay. I have a 40 mile commute one way each morning and then again after work... that can take up to an hour... so I usually have breakfast and an appetizer on the road. I need to make better choices OBVIOUSLY. I have the Weight Watchers points books, but it's a matter of sitting down with it and finding the right choices. Easier said that done. Guest guest
Have you tried VitaLady.com. You can buy samples there, before you buy a big tub of something. She has a huge stock to choose from. Guest guest
I don't see any protein shakes on that list of what you ate...........don't you do them at all? They might help cut the cravings for bad stuff. ------------------------------------------------- I will certify that the protein shakes have definitely curbed the carb/sugar monster that I've been having for months now. Started on Monday-Wednesday four to five shakes per day with no food. Thursday did four shakes and made some stirred fried in a tiny bit of oil sirloin steak and made chopped spinach with it. Yesterday, had four to five shakes and shrimp cocktail during the day and half a hamburger patty with cheese on it. Today the shakes and another half of hamburger patty. My husband called to tell me he was going to the Green Cactus to pick up Mexican food tonight and I just told him that I'll stick with my protein only thing. Didn't even take a bite out of his burritto which I usually do too. Just no interest. Hope it stays that way. The chocolate whey stack is my favorite and just living on the stuff made with water and ice has made the shake fast/feast so much easier. Hope this helps.
