Guest guest
Actually, that isn't completely true. There is a form of salmonella which infects the ovaries of healthy hens and it contaminates the eggs way before the shell is ever formed. Fecal contamination of the egg shells is very rare, especially if you clean the eggs a second time, but the new form of salmonella (Salmonella enteritidis) has nothing to do with the shells being washed or not. The chicks are contaminated the second they are conceived. Anyone ever had salmonella? I did, and it's a horrible experience. a - Peoria IL >>>And you do not get salmonella if the eggs are fresh and washed the shell before use. Salmonella is not as easy caught, and it is from the shell not from the actual egg.<<<<<Get more from the Web.
