I am so happy to hear that you are off to see Dr. P.... we actually went out

there on Friday the 23rd (for the first time) ... we just wanted to make sure we

were on the right track with Avery's foot....she is 1 1/2 and her foot looked

great to us but she isn't walking yet and her ankles seem weak (or loose,

something like that ).... so we decided to make the trip and we are so happy

that we did.... we got great news.... he was happy with her foot and said it is

completely corrected and it should just be a matter of time before she walks....

his nurse was very happy with the work of her Dr here (which is Dr. Lemke)...

she said " we've got a good one in Illinois " ... which she was referring to

Avery's doctor.... so we were thrilled.....that was such good news to us, just

knowing that we are in really good hands with Dr. Lemke.... so that could be

good for you because once is fully corrected by the master himself at

least you would know that if you need any care locally she is

very close to you....we are actually going for our follow up with her on

Thursday so it will be interesting to find out what she has to say about

everything.... she didn't know we were going but we just decided we were going

to go before anymore time went by.....were so honored to meet Dr Ponseti....

unfortunately, Avery screamed the whole time he was checking out her foot.... it

was very hard to hear him but we got most of it I think.... we could tell it was

good news at least.... it was a long trip for the girls and it was nap time but

all in all it worked out great.... it was a 3 hour trip but it was SO easy to

find and get to!!!... I can 't wait to hear about your experience....you will be

in good hands.....post as soon as you can....

...and again you can give me a call anytime if you need any info regarding Dr

Lemke! It will be good to hear what he has to say about and what you

need to do to get him on the right track...

Good Luck and have a safe trip!

After trying to find someplace that stocks the Markells and the DBB and having

no luck, I

called Dr P's office last week. (We're trying to get the shoes before

comes out of

his post tenotomy cast and also before the end of the year for best use of the

very limited

insurance benefit.) After explaining the situation to , (one of his

nurses?) she said

she'd speak with him and have him give us a call. He called Friday afternoon

and asked us

to come in this Wed (tomorrow,) so of course we accepted!! I CANNOT wait... I

think it's

insane that I'm so happy to be going to a doctor!! hehe

Anyway, we feel a little bad about just abandoning our current doc, but really

think this is

the best thing to do, so that's just how it's gonna be!! Honestly, we have no

loyalty to the

doctor at all... We never should feel that way, but what can you do!?

So, we're heading out tomorrow early morning, and with any luck Dr P will take

off the cast

and we'll be in the Markells tomorrow. If not, then I suppose we'll know that

's foot

isn't corrected properly and we'll know what steps to take next... And those

steps will be

taken with the best of the best!!

I'm so glad that we found this board and have now made the decision to travel to

Dr P.

We're also keenly aware just how lucky we are to A) have found this board so

early in our

son's life, and B) be so close to Dr P himself. We're about a 3 hour drive

away, which in my

opinion is well worth making!

We hope you all had the best possible Christmas and wish you all the best New

Year, as

well!!

I will post again tomorrow evening (hopefully) and let you know how things turn

out!

I'm giddy!! (does that mean I have a pathetically uneventful life, or just that

we're happy to

be headed on the right track now?!? lol)

Stacee and 9/24/05 rcf

P.S. Sorry I'm not able to post as often as many of you, and I'm completely

incapable of

keeping track of all the lives of everyone! I have a hard time remembering

which of my

children is which!! :-) Don't let that fact undermine my complete and total

admiration of

you all! Thanks!

I am SOOOOO glad that you got good news! I was actually going to try calling

you today,

but jackson is waking from a nap hungry, and the older two are hassling each

other right

now. Then we have errands to run.... for a stay at home mom, I'm always on the

move!!

I will do my best to call you this afternoon!
