That should be included in the price of the office visit/surgery. I have to say...he may be a good surgeon...but that is really kinda pushing it in my book. ~*~ AJ ~*~ Age 37 5'8'' Post op 7/24/01 Open BPD/DS self pay - Dr Baltasar -Alcoy Spain 07/24/01 BMI 64 415.1 08/06/01 BMI 59 390.2 -24.9 lbs! 08/16/01 BMI 58 387.0 -27.9 lbs! 08/24/01 BMI 58 386.5 -28.6 lbs! 08/30/01 BMI 58 378.3 -36.8 lbs! 09/10/01 BMI 56.7 373.0 -42.1 lbs! Guest guest
Don't forget that Dr. Rabkin's office will charge 7.5% to get the $3500 back from the insurance company. Remember the people who said they were charged $900 for that? ($12,000 x 7.5%= $900). I just thought... if we only get back about $3500, then shouldn't we be charged $262.50? Guest guest
Why charged anything? Filing insurance claims is a standard part of most dr's practice>>>> some insurance companies are not paying the surgeons what they should be getting so some are having to charge a fee to make up for that. However, Rabkin sounds awfully high......too high, in fact! Judie

I have the money, but I don't want a dr whose main purpose seems to be greed to be cutting on me. Seems like he's preying on the people desperate to have their lives back by having the surgery. Other surgeons do very well with the fees they receive I don't know why Rabkin has to take advantage of his patients. $900 for paperwork? Guest guest
Chris---the bottom line is that we charge $12,000.00 because we cannot continue offering the DS with the reimbursements that insurance companies pay and keep our doors open. Guest guest
Why charged anything? Filing insurance claims is a standard part of most dr's practice. How many of you have your first year of follow up included with your surgery? I know this is moot for those that had to travel. But this is what my dr. does and I know it saves both me and the insurance money.
