Guest guest
do you need to be qualified to sub-teach? Here you dont need any qualificiations other than high school diploma! Sounds like sub teaching might be better than just being a teacher! Yeah I know about the kids and the smell LOL They can be very vocal about it too! Guest guest
Mikey, Im in Idaho! We do have some friends who sub here which is why I asked you that question......sounds to me like subbing is much better than going to college and getting a 4yr or masters degree and there is a shortage of teachers so there should be no problem for you getting the jobs you want! Guest guest
I'm a substitute for grades K thru 5th. I started doing that when we moved here to NC from Calif. last Oct. Back home I owned my own childcare/preschool. So, you can see why have the " problem " isn't a good thing with little kids! LOL! Guest guest
No, just a HS diploma and some experience with kids or a love of children. In Ca. you had to have a teaching degree or at least be in the final year of college toward it. Where do you live? I love subbing. I can work when I want to, where I want to and not work if I don't want to. It's all on computer. I call and see if there's a job available or they call me. Then if I want it I can take or not. No people to have to explain to why I don't want to work that day. And I just programed the computer for an absence for the surgery and didn't get any calls. Now the schools know me and I did get calls at the first of the school year when they didn't know I still couldn't return. That's nice because it means you've impressed them and they by passed the computer. Re: Question/Micky > do you need to be qualified to sub-teach? Guest guest
I was surprised when I first started. They told me they had 1200 subs and needed more! Now this isn't a huge town and the district covers 2 towns!! The pay is less than a teacher but it's fine for what I want. I'm at work at 7:30am and home by 2:15pm. No curriculum planning, no grading and if I hate the class I don't have to go back! LOL! Micky Re: Question/Micky > Mikey, > Im in Idaho!
