Hi guys,

I currently have a hawley retainer (since december) and I went to my

ortho today. One tooth (the one next to my right front tooth) has

rotated a little bit. According to my ortho this is as far as it will

go (hardly noticable) but if I'd like, I could get an essix retainer

(the clear invisalign type), where they can put the teeth back in its

original position. I'd be wearing that kind as my retainer from then

on. It sounds like a good idea, estethically perhaps also compared to

the hawley. What are your experiences with the essix retainer?

Hi Nathalie, I've had an essix retainer on my top teeth ever since I

had my braces removed in August'04. (I've got a fixed retainer on

the bottom) I think its great. I only had to wear it 24/7 for about

3 weeks. Since then I only wear it at night when i'm sleping. I've

had no problems with it - no teeth movement. Its hardly noticable &

very comfortable.
