Guest guest
My doc does both....the dietary stuff, supplementation, and chelation of heavy metals. In my son's case, they only had me take about a month of being gfcf, plus killing off parasites and bacteria with some antibiotics (taking probiotics at the same time!), and supplementing, before starting chelation. Maybe it would be different for others. I mention them because I believe they do every kind of those mail kit tests, similar to Great Plains Lab, but it's more than just a lab. Not sure if my DAN practitioner does phone consults, but I wouldn't be surpirsed. She's quite knowledgeable in autism, and has been to at least two DAN conferences, the last one in Atlanta. Her name is Maureen Durkin, at Nubasx Nutritional Clinic (not sure of the end of that title, but Nubasx will get you the number!), in Norcross, GA. I don't have the number handy, but it's Nubasx on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Norcross.) She works with a board certified doc and physician's assistant who are nutritional/allergy experts. And the lab next door, where they do all the testing, is called Metametrix. So you could give them a call and see what they suggest. We have been so happy so far, and things are " moving right along " with them, for lack of a better way to say it. They do not accept insurance or Medicaid, but if you can afford it, I believe this is top notch care. (No, I don't work for them! )) On Mon, 30 Jul 2001 18:30:31 EDT Dwpittard@... writes: We've been so > wrapped up > in trying to heal his gut- without a lot of luck so far, that we've > kind of > been lax on the whole heavy metals issues.
