I had springs placed between my teeth to prepare for surgery. I had

a LeFort I with a three piece segmental and lower. My springs

segmented off my front four teeth from the rest. In my case they

lowered the front segment and shuffled the angle of the back so it

was necessary to not only move my maxilla down in front but also

change the angle of the back. In your case the springs probably

have to do with the SARPE, but I am not an expert and do not know

for sure. They put in the springs to make a space between the roots

so that when they cut your jaw they will not hit your roots and

damage your teeth in the process. Hope this helps!
