Guest guest
WOuld be great to hear if there are any other non-responders out there and how you've handled it.Lilian,Honestly, I don't feel like my symptoms are any better than when I started either. But then again they weren't all that bad to begin with, just D and occasional B when I'm in a flare. I still feel like it's worth it to stick it out though, for the long term results that will hopefully soon become short term too =) Here are some dishes that I can eat that I think taste pretty good. Maybe it'll give you some ideas::1. Chopped up chicken breast sauteed in butter and lots of fresh garlic, splash of lemon juice. Add frozen green beans after chicken is cooked.2. Chopped chicken breast sauteed in plenty of VCO. Sprinkle on a tiny bit of every spice/herb in your cabinet (literally. I did this this morning and put in nutmeg, cloves, salt, oregano, thyme, cumin, basil, dill, turmeric, marjoram, and probably more but that's all I can remember. Just a small sprinkle of each, but it creates a very nice flavor with the coconut oil) Add some frozen peas when chicken is done.3. Baked whole chicken- bake w/ marjoram, salt, and butter4. Salmon. I've done fresh garlic, fresh ginger, and salt baked with salmon, butter and celery salt...tons of ways to make salmon.5. Canned tuna is super good with homemade salad dressing! I just do garlic, ACV, EVOO, and a shake of oregano if I feel like it. Usually I also smush up half an avocado and add to the mix. That's all I can think of for now... I hope you find some things you like to eat soon!! Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!) Your body knows what to do with the protein and fat. You may be a person who needs primarily those nutrients and can do with less vegetables. There have been many world cultures that were STRICTLY meat eaters, and were/are so in very good health -- hard as that is for modern medicine to comprehend, with it's obsession with low-fat (rather than low-sugar). The Inuits (Eskimos) are one such culture. They only began tetting all kinds of weird diseases when they began eating like mainstream Westerners. n______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers. Guest guest
I'd suggest making some condiments for your foods to help with the blandness. I put off making ketchup for a year, but I wish I had made it sooner! It makes meatloaf and hamburgers much tastier. You could also make a hollandaise sauce, salad dressings, marinades, etc. Go to http://www.scdrecipe.com/recipes/ under " DIP AND DRESS " for some ideas, as well as in any SCD cookbook. Also, if you don't mind the taste of saccharin, you can use that to sweeten foods. It's the non-SCD foods that used to add some flavor to my day, I guess. > > My diet pre-SCD was not a typical SAD diet, but I did eat brown rice products, chocolate and didn't peruse labels about small amts of sugar and other illegals. > > Lilian >
