Hi Diane, First of all, I've heard on this message board that the book you're

talking about is no good--basically a scam.

Next, about cost. My orthodontic treatment was $6400 for clear brackets on

top. The total surgeon's fees were $21,600 for upper, lower, genio, plus

septoplasty and reduction of turbinates. All of the hospital fees were covered

by my insurance, so I'm not sure exactly how much they were. One more

thing, I think that price depends a lot on your location, so just so you know, I

had my treatment done in Washington, DC, which is an expensive area.

Wow, it seems NYC is even more expensive. My orthodontic treatment

was $6600 - I had ceramic on top and bottom minus the back teeth

which have metallic brackets. Also included in the fee were all my

xrays and molds as well as final retainers for end of treatment.

Total cost of surgery which includes a 3 piece Lefort osteotomy and

anterior manidbular osteotomy (basically only upper jaw)plus removal

of two upper bicuspids and two molars is $17,100. My OS is still

debating about whether to do genio on me or not so this price may go

up. As for hospital fees I'm still waiting on these but it usually

depends on how many nights your surgeon wants to keep you in for.

Either way I would estimate at least another $10,000 since hospitals

are EXPENSIVE. Also, prices vary from doctor to doctor. Another

doctor that I saw prior to my current one had quoted me $22,000 for

the same treatment.

And yes, beware of the book on the site. I've heard it's not good!

Hope this helps.
