Guest guest
Dora, Congrats on them having a cancellation and your being able to go in tonight. Sometimes it is best when things happen like this because it doesn't give us time to fret about them. I will be thinking of you, 2-10-04 404pre-op/358surg/321/160? -- My sleep study is tonight... I knew that I was going to have to schedule a sleep study but did not know it would be so soon. I was talking with the lady who does the scheduling and she has had GBS. She understood where I was coming from and told me she would get me in as soon as possible. If I had to wait for an appointment it might be late May. She called me this morning and told me that they had an appointment for me for May 31st but they had a cancellation tonight and if I could come in I could have it. So, I am going in tonight to sleep for them. That should be pretty simple. Also, I go to the surgeon for my first visit with him. After tonight I will have done all the preliminary tests that they requested and we should be ready to move forward with the insurance company. Wish me luck. I hope to be approved and in surgery by late July or early August. It would be a real blessing if it happens sooner for some reason. Dora 446 Pre-op Waiting for surgeon's OK. Guest guest
Hi! My name is Lori and I just had the sleep study. Its nothing to worry about. The test is done in 2 parts. The first is to see is you have the sleep ampnea. What they do is hook you up to wires on certain parts of of your body in order to monitor your sleep patterns. If you do have the sleep ampnea, the 2nd. part is when they give you the medicine through the oxygen into your nostrils to clear out your nasal passages. The place that I had mine done was very nice. The room was set up just like my bedroom at home. They had a comfortable bed (not hospital bed) t.v. & v.c.r., etc. The maximum amount of sleep is between 6 to 7 hours. Before Part 1 of the test, they will send you paperwork, and you will have to log your sleep patterns (sleep diary) at home for two weeks, plus will ask other questions like how much alcohol you may consume, or if you smoke. I hope that this was helpful information. Lori lpeters6@... My sleep study is tonight... > > > I knew that I was going to have to schedule a sleep study but did > not know it would be so soon.
