Guest guest
How was her letter written? Was it clinical and factual or filled with indignation and emotion? Was it written to help the MO community in their decision to have the surgery or will it scare them away which will harm them more at their current weight? Did it slam any doctors? Doctors would think twice about being a part of Q & A forums or help forums of any kind (usually unpaid) if they feared being slandered. MO people need to hear the plain truth to analyze thoroughly the facts before having surgery, BUT, this surgery has saved the lives of hundreds of thousands and we have to becareful when we express problems and side effects that occur after surgery that we don't scare the " begeebers " out of the MO community and make them think twice about a surgery that can truly help them. Yes, there are problems and side effects... Yes, not all doctors are the best at the procedures... Yes, we all need the " facts " to analyze our decision for surgery... I have been a part of running a support group and I have talked to post-ops who have had problems and struggles but all of have them said they would do it again. Choose your words wisely. Eliminate opinion and emotion. State the facts only. Be clinical. See if it doesn't get posted. Not sure it will be but it's worth a try. He is a computer programmer. *****I thought he said he was selling medical supplies when he became interested in MO, but I could be wrong because it was about 5 years ago when I first discovered the site. >>Overall though, it is an excellent site for people who have > had or are interested in having WLS.>> *****I agree. He really has done a great service with the site. in NJ
