Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, Here is an email from the White House about a Spanish Language Town Hall meeting to be held in DC tomorrow. RSVPs are requested. Does anyone have staff or board members in the area who could attend this function? Many thanks to Gomez for forwarding this to us. Subject: Invitation to participate in Spanish-Language Townhall this Friday on H1N1 Virus Importance: High Friends - We invite you to come and participate in an important White House outreach initiative on the H1N1 virus. On Friday the White House will host a Spanish-language town hall on the H1N1 Virus which will be open to press and broadcast on Univision. This is part of an effort to do as much as possible to make sure the community gets accurate information about this public health concern, which will be important both in the remaining days of this pandemic, as well as to maximize preparation for whatever our next public health challenge will be. The town hall will be here at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 12:15pm-1:30pm. The panel will include Spanish-speaking Administration representatives from involved agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor and the White House. Univision's weekend anchor, Edna Schmidt, will moderate, and Univision will air segments of the town hall on several national news programs, reaching an estimated 13 million viewers. As leaders in the community, we would like for you to attend and ask questions; we are also inviting members of the general public to participate. Please confirm your attendance to me by COB tomorrow, Thursday, May 7th. Call time for the event is 11:30AM and will need the regular info (name on ID, SSN, DOB and Citizenship) If you can help us secure other audience members, please let me know. We want to try to engage as many people as possible in this effort to disseminate this far and wide to our community. I will be in touch soon regarding more details, but we look forward to having you be part of this discussion as we try to get this important information to our community.
