Guest guest
How old is Ethan? Hayden is eight months old and if I feel him starting to give me trouble when I am putting the shoes back on, I give him something he really likes that he usually can't have - like the remote control or something of his sister's! Seems to work fairly well! rogers_colette wrote: Hi My son, Ethan, has been in the markells and brace for a week and is still finding it pretty stressful. The occurrence of a blister on his heel within the first 24 hours did little to help the introduction. The blister has been treated with duoderm tape, a larger hole cut in the back of the boot to relieve the pressure, and ensuring that the heel is down in the boot. Despite treating the blister, he still seems frustrated by the restriction presented by the boots. He tenses up as I put the boots on him, is prone to having the occasional rigid fit. I think things are improving as he adjusts, but it is pretty horrible to see him unhappy. Thought you guys might have some tips as to how to help him relax whilst fitting and wearing the boots? Guest guest
When Isaac was in his first brace, I would sit on the bed, face him to the tv, and turn on the backyardigans children show. he loves the music and movement, and would stay still while I put it on with minimal fussing. Hope that u can figure this out. Hang in there. Please check the bar width. What kind of socks are u using? Ones with gripper/rubber for traction help prevent some slippage. Where are the toes at in the shoe? My son was given the wrong size shoe which didn't work at all. Does yours have an open heel(hole in the back of the shoe to see if the heel is seated properly)?
