Guest guest
Initially I lost 85 lbs (from 320 to 235) and was done. Could not get below 235lbs and maintain no matter what I did. Had the revision (banded pouch outlet, taken to a true distal, common channel reduce to 120cms [47 " ]) and have continued to lose since. I am down another 85lbs to 150lbs, size 10-12. Weight loss is slower now (lose, hold, lose, hold) but that's OK I will get to goal. Really glad I did the revision. CindyW RE: Stoma-Cindy Cindy; Did your weight loss improve a great deal after the proximal? My pouch is " slightly stretched " and the stoma stretched as well. Had a revision last year from a proximal to a distal RNY. While they were not able to rebuild my pouch (horizontal pouch) they were able to place a silastic band around my stoma to correct the size. What a different having a smaller stoma made. Don't know how many surgeons are using silastic bands but it worked for me.
