Guest guest
Dear Ds-Honey: I understand your fear, I feel it too. My surgery is the 10th with Dr. K. I have a lot of confidence in his skill and I like his style. Still, this is a major undertaking and worth thinking about, twice. I wish you a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery, I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. Sheryle DR K 10-10-
Guest guest
Hi group, I haven't posted in months, but I wanted to touch base and tell my story for those who don't know. First, I was scheduled for a revision from vbg to ds by Dr. K, on 1/30/01. I chickened out on the gurney as they were starting to prep me. I reset my date again, after going over all my facts and getting to the root of my concerns. I have done that, and it was reset for july, and then sept, now October 3, 01, 5:30 checkin. Dr. K has my new blood work, and chest x ray, and ekg. All my tests were done about 10 months ago. When he gets back from vacation, he will review all of this, if everything is ok- I am going through with the surgery. I want so much to change my life for the better, be able to move without sittingdown every 5 monutes, breaking my recliners, not fitting in chairs when we go anywhere, and people stareing at me, kids laughing etc. I went blonde the other day to boost my spirits toward a new me, and fight the blues and such from the bombings.I am holding positive thoughts, and relying on God that what is ment to be will be, and I and you know He wants the best. Any prayers for that day will be greatly APPRECIATED. i WILL BE NORMALLY SCARED, BUT I AM USING MY TAPE PLAYER to listen to my get ready for surgery tapes. thanks for listening- ds-honey __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Is that you, Marilyn? We met at Dr. K's some months back. I'm so glad that you're moving forward with your surgery, and that all your concerns have been addressed to your satisfaction. I think this extra time was just what you needed to be really ready. Yesterday was my one-year surgery anniversary--hope you caught my post. It's like a dream come true! I feel so gosh-darned normal! I never worry about fitting into any place--chairs, airplanes, tight squeezes. I'm even dating about 4 different guys right now! The funny part is, I've told them about my surgery and recent losses. They all wanted to see a picture of 'before' and said I looked great then, and they would have dated me even then! How funny (and sweet) is that?! Anyway, you are definitely in my prayers for between now and October 3. Keep using those " prepare for surgery " tapes. It did me a world of good! I also had a friend who did a hypnotherapy session with me and taped it. On the other side she did a healing type thing. I used the tapes pre- and post-op. That and lots of prayers from lots of people before and especially during and after surgery. Made all the difference, I'm sure! I'm coming to Dr. K's for the meeting on October 10--you'll be a post-op by then! Woohoo! You're going to do great, I just know it!!!
