Hi Raj,

Medjool dates, the dark brown ones that are soft, are fresh as well (as opposed to

dried) and legal. In fact Elaine recommended these only.

I am not sure about the yellow orange ones. As far as I know Medjool dates are the

best, and the only ones that we are supposed to eat. I eat them often too.

Sorry, but I haven't tried date sugar yet.

It's just fine as lone as it contains no illegals. Dates (pitted) cooked

in a little water, and pureed with a hand blender works fine.
