Guest guest
I went to my orthodontist on the 1st after he had taken pictures, molds, x-rays to study and see how close I am to being ready for surgery. He says we've still got " a ways " to go. He said probably 6-8 more months. I've been in the braces for 14 months already. Oh well, as far as I can tell from what everyone else has said that's about normal. I'm OK with that. One question for y'all.... How long do you have to sleep with your head elevated? Is 2 weeks enough, or do you have to do it longer? Trying to get mentally prepared even though I've still got a while to wait. Guest guest
I seem to remember my surgeon telling me just to sleep on my back (and not elevated) within one or two weeks after surgery. > > I went to my orthodontist on the 1st after he had taken pictures, > molds, x-rays to study and see how close I am to being ready for > surgery. Guest guest
The first week I slept elevated. The second week my surgeon told me it wouldn't make much difference and to sleep lying down as normal. I think whats really important is that you get good rest for your body to recoup properly. You won't sleep well the first week but it is a small price to pay for the outcome :0) Cheers, Jen > > I went to my orthodontist on the 1st after he had taken pictures, > molds, x-rays to study and see how close I am to being ready for > surgery.
