It's been 2 weeks since I stopped taking antibiotics and started steroids along with the max dose of Asacol (12 pills a day). Usually, this will kick a flare out of me overnight. This time, it's just not happening. I've gone back to intro for 2 day and now i'm eating very little honey, no nut flours, and only seasoned meats, eggs, mashed squash, cooked carrots and broccoli, mild cheddar cheese, legal bacon, legal brown mustard from digestivewellness, at least a cup of yogurt a day with no honey in it, no more than 1 banana a day, avocado(1 a day at most), cheesecake, and I made a type of jello with coconut cream. Guest guest
hard to tell, i'm always better in the morning after I wake since I take the steroids before bed... then I notice the effects wearing off slowly throughout the day. Seems to be wearing off a little bit less every day though so that's good. Only concern is running out before I can get healed enough to stop them. If it comes down to it, i'll just have to pay out of pocket... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know i'll be helping some rich executive at a pharmaceutical company afford a 5th BMW for their driveway.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: smdsmom2008@...Date: Wed, 10 Feb 2010 15:57:35 +0000Subject: Re: Observations, Questions, Concerns, and randoms... Any advice? Things I should cut out? cut the oil of oregano - it's irritating in a flare. if you are having mucous, I'd cut the dairy for a little while. Make ghee (get rid of the milk solids from the butter), keep with the yogurt but cut the cheese until mucous ameliorates. Just keep on keeping on, sometimes it takes a while. And very helpful, especially if you have diarrhea. Those other ingredients are ok. I also use Nutricology's. You can get a 50 capsule bottle for $12.79 at luckyvitamin.com (or $12.66 each if you buy 3, $12.53 each for 6). I normally take one capsule before each meal; or two at a time if I feel I need it. n __________________________________________ > To: BTVC-SCD > From: kevinking114@... > Date: Tue, 9 Feb 2010 20:25:43 -0800 > Subject: RE: Observations, Questions, Concerns, and randoms... > I would try S Boulardii, but it may work better for CD than UC. Guest guest
I got SCDophilus and S Boulardii from GI Prohealth. Their S Boulardii is 60 caps for $25.95 and the fillers are " cellulose, vCaps vegetarian capsule, water and L-leucine " which sounds pretty pure to me. I haven't used this yet but I haven't had any trouble with the SCDophilus. Their stuff seems pretty pure. Guest guest
I also take the GI Prohealth SCDophilus and tried their S Boulardii. But GI Prohealth S Boulardii is only 1/3 the strength of Nutricology. Also Nutricology says 9 capsules a day to GI Prohealth saying take 1 a day. I really noticed an improvement with the Nutricology higher strengh and higher dose S Boulardii. K. Guest guest
, you could always buy the 50 MG pills from some place like AllDayChemist.com and make your own LDN. It's very economical that way. I paid about $75 for nearly a years worth of medicine. Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > > > > > First off, GREAT news about being cancer free!!!
