my daughter went to CIRS in PA about 2 years ago and had very good

improvement for brachy. Her pics are in the photos area under Our

Plagio Babies S/Sydney M. We saw Amy for the initial scan, but Bob did

most of our adjustments (Amy was out when our band first arrived). I

was quite happy with them. I have heard a few minor complaints but

overall I think most people are very satisfied with them.

I'm not really sure if the bump/ridge you're describing is normal

growth or not. Bob's bedside manner can be a bit spotty, but he was

always willing to explain things to me, so make sure you follow up if

you don't get a clear answer about what they say it is. I think both

he and Amy have a lot of experience. Please let us know what they say.

My daughter has a giant head and at one point there was concern of

hydrocephalus. At around 6 mo she was >95th percentile for head size,

and that has continued to be the case. She wore her band until 10 mo

old and had good growth the entire time. She also had a follow up

visit at 14 mo (4 mo out of the band) and had still grown, but hadn't

improved. So at 9 mo even a big boy may still grow quite a bit.

My daughter had improvement at every visit. If you haven't seen much

change yet, I would also ask them what is going on there, and see if a

new band needs to be made that will fit better (and work better). If

you started banding before 9 mo you should be seeing decent

improvement if a band fits properly.
