But for regular calcium intake, we rely on on Kirkman's unflavored calcium powder. I sprinkle it in almost everything - maargine spreads, mashed potatoes, chicken satay, baked goods, herbal teas, etc. It doesn't take much to reach the recommended daily allowance. I know it's hard to break from the milk indoctrination, but my child is fair healthier and eating far better than he ever did pre-gfcf. Guest guest
Just an FYI. I couldn't get my son to take ANY calcium supplement. His teeth started to turn yellow and I got really worried. One year into the diet he started to drink dairy-free and now I can't keep enough made at all times and his teeth are white again. Just letting all the newbies out there that eventually children start trying new things, even if it takes a year. Hugs, Terry.B

Guest guest
Does anyone take calcium supplements? With. No calcium intake I'm worried. I had been taking liquid ca with magnesium but it has sugar. So I was looking into coral calcium with extra magnesium supplements. I also take liquid cod liver oil. I stopped my daily vitamin, enzymes, & probiotics b/c I'm on intro. What type of supplements do you take? (I'm c all the time) oh and I've been taking milk of mag each day. Is there a time limit on that? I think I'm getting worse b/c I have only mucus leaving my body.
Guest guest
Hello, The mucus leaving your body is actually a sign of die off, and that’s a good thing! It’s yucky and gross, but a sign of healing as your body expels dead pathogens. Please hang in there and continue with the SCD. When I first started the SCD I had to take it one day at a time…eventually my gut healed. Yours will too, I’ll wager. I hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
I thought the mucus was a bad thing and was frankly a little bummed that I had been experiencing it consistently. Thanks for your infinite wisdom Carol- I am kind of excited about it now -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 2003 > > >Hello, > > > >The mucus leaving your body is actually a sign of die off, and that's a good > >thing! Guest guest
Sorry to be a bummer. But... If you are experiencing it consistently, it's a sign of inflammation - and may be related to dairy intake. Guest guest
And if you can't tolerate calcium supplements in pill form, Trader Joe's has both Pelligrino and Gerolsteiner mineral waters. An 8 oz. glass will give you 4% and 8% respectively of the daily RDA for calcium. This doesn't sound like much, but sipping a couple of large glasses of Gerolsteiner daily would give you around 30% of your daily calcium.I think Kim also mentioned a liquid calcium supplement for those who can't tolerate the pill form. --
