Thanks for posting. I really love to read these stories about how SCD has helped people. I just passed the 7 month mark. The 1st week to a month I made good progress, months 2 to 6 had a flare up every month and set backs, month 6 to 7 has been about the best so far and I am now eating far more SCD foods and have put back some weight. Gotta love cookies made with almond and coconut flour, melted butter and honey! Thanks for all the help from this board!

Hi ,

I started on 1.5mg and I was on 10mg of Prednisone. Every 3 weeks I upped my

dose with 1.5 mg and meanwhile I lowered the dose of steroids. I did strict SCD

candida elimination diet at that time too - basically chicken and zucchini,

green beans, avocado ones in a while. I don't recommend that severe regimen but

my body just didn't tolerated anything else at that time.I noticed small change

at the 5 week when I was on 3mg and on 5mg of Prednisone. When I wean off

completely of steroids big changes came.

For me the most important then was to wean off. Then I started adding new foods.

I still have limitations but it doesn't bother me at all. I prefer to go slow

and to be careful, but generally I eat meat, fish, eggs (finally), 4 or five

veggies, honey, coconut flour, bananas, drink orange juice, week coffee and tea.

And recently I added occasional cheese. I haven't try yogurt, but small dose of

acidophilus now I can tolerate.

Things are improving every day.

So don't give up

Yana:

I'm super happy that you've enjoyed the recipes I've submitted. I also hit the 2

year mark Jan 5. I have felt so good these 2 years even with the setbacks.

I'm super happy for you and hope you continue to have good health!!!

This group has helped me achieve my SCD success and without everyone in it, I

think I would have failed. From the most beginner to the most experienced, each

person's failures, successes and advice has helped me to persevere.

I would also like to thank everyone that contributes to the group no matter how

little you think your input is.

endless caring, good will and patience here.

Thank you to each of you co-moderators and contributors. This is an

amazing home, and I love reading your notes. Thanks for those

recipes-- and information and support.

Actually, there's one person who almost never gets thanked -- and that's

my husband, Harry. He makes it possible for me to have the time to answer

all the questions, does endless sinks-full of dishes, is incredibly

patient when his dinner or breakfast or lunch gets delayed because I'm

busy typing.

He's a heckuva special guy -- the hidden support!

You know Marilyn, as they say, behind every great woman always stands a great

man!

And what can we really do if there weren't our loved ones to support us.

Salute for Harry!
