Guest guest
Hello! I actually was fortunate and got the expander put in the night before surgery...so it was definately hard to talk and eat, but the next morning I had the surgery so I didn't have a lot of time to think about it! Working with Alzhiemer's patients can be very difficult...mostly you have to teach them compensatory strategies to help them remember certain things. At my job right now, the Alzhiemer's patient I work with mostly have chewing/swallowing problems - which is 90% of what I do at my job. But it can be very rewarding at the same time! I certainly remember the APA papers and all that referencing!! I can sympathize with you! Do you have any idea as to what your paper will be on? How far do you have to travel back to Philadelphia? You said you were out of state? That must be challenging too, having all this done and traveling at the same time. I recently (well, 2 years ago) moved to Pittsburgh....I grew up in Northern Virginia, but am now a PA resident. Well, hope all is well. I can't believe the days are ticking away to my surgery date. Getting nervous!! And now, my newest news is that I'm moving into a townhouse 4 weeks after my surgery! I just pray that I don't go insane keep in touch, tricia
