Guest guest
Yes but I was a little disappointed when the mother asked is this treatable, and the doctor said, something like " oh ya, corticosteroids and Methotrexate, so I'll get the meds " , like it was no big deal, they were more worried about what if it's MS, and maybe I'm thinking of another show but didn't they try steroids on this kid and he got worse? I watch it when ever I can, so it's possible I'm confused, I get that a lot. how are doing , I have been either not feeling well with BP issues, then my son and I took some furniture, that came out of my other sons apt as he moved back home, so we took this furniture to Joe in Gillette Wy. 6 hrs up with a u-haul and 4 1/2 hrs back. It was good to see him, he is doing really good, I pray he stays the course! Even though I miss him, this is the best thing I think that could happen for him. I feel so weak with this BP meds, my BP is too low, I see the doctor today, so we'll see what she has to say about it. Now I need to pay over due bills, yikes! take care. God Bless, Marla Well, someone finally got a diagnosis of Sarcoidosis on House last night. i was really surprised! It's mentioned as a possibility about every other episode over the whole course of the show's history but has never been the final outcome. Of course, it was mixed with other health concerns but at least it was finally mentioned. I sure hope some of my family and friends were watching...lol. 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Guest guest
I watched it again with hubby and I kept pointing out the similarities....like the peripheral pain and the sound which overwhelmed him. His was 100 times worse because of his newfound hearing but hubby still understood my point. Too much sound can quickly overwhelm me. The character had some heart involvement, too. and the sound in his head like bombs going off?....I used to tell my hubby and family that the sound in my head sounded like a train was running on tracks loudly through my brain. It used to make me nauseated and dizzy. They remember all the times I had and still have to, at times, put cold washcloths on my forehead. The intense swelling and pain in my hands has improved with losing 80 lbs. This was also the first winter in years I didn't end up with a pleurisy-type chest inflammation needing meds and narcotic pain pills. I still have pain in these areas but it is less intense. I wish I could exercise more. I can't seem to lose any more weight and I think that's the problem but I'm still happy with what i've lost. anyway...I am saving that House episode! 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself" ( 16:24 NIV)."No one whose hope is in You will ever be put to shame….Show me Yourways, O LORD, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teachme, for You are God my Savior, and My hope is in You all day long."Psalm 25:3,4,5 NIV Subject: Re: House diagnosisTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 3:21 PM I was watching and happily surprised. I recorded it for my daughter to watch. That is such a good show and more people should watch. Although they didn't say anything as to how to deal with it at least they mentioned the two meds that help. Have a great pain free day. Guest guest
I think most episodes have a letdown when the diagnosis is made...like just finding the mystery is the end-all. There is little or no followup with patients. But hey...baby steps...lol. I am always happy to see it mentioned on the show. On this episode after mentioning the diagnosis and treatment they went on to Chase's bachelor party and Chase ingesting But he was alright after being treated. House was having hallucinations, too, from lack of sleep and ???. Where else is sarcoid ever mentioned?...So I'll be happy with what we can get and hope for more. My blood pressure is a bit better with losing weight. But I also need one with a diuretic because I have fluid retention problems. After taking bp meds my headaches improved 75 %. It was amazing. Rest up from that long trip. I haven't gone farther than an hour in years. And i have to lay on a futon mattress in the back of the jeep to do that...lol. My youngest son is having marriage problems. He found out his wife has been cheating on him for most of his 4 year marriage. I am still in shock, sick to my stomach and also feeling betrayed. She likes to deflect her issues on to him blaming him for her choices. I am proud of him for standing up for himself and handling all this mess. They are going to go to counseling...which is probably more than I would do. They have a four month old and I told him to get DNA testing to make sure Emma is his. That would be the worst betrayal of all. This cheating was with a good friend of his. Anyone feel like throwing some virtual stones?......I have been a bit sick from the stress of all this, too. Don't get me started on bills. I forget to pay them all the time. Rest up and I pray your doc visit goes well. hugs S. 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Guest guest
I was also pleased that sarc was finally the diagnosis, even tho they blew off the treatment/cure issue. But that's usual for House. At least this guy didn't have blood spurting from everywhere. I'm with ; at least it was mentioned, and also that Mtx was mentioned along with the Pred. Guest guest
They also talked about the use of nicotine could have effect the sarcoidosis............. I have to claim BSSSSSSS there. Of course I used copenhagen for almost 30 years. I am now at 4 weeks no nicotine/copenhagen. And there is no change in my sarc. Of course on Prednisone and quitting nicotine I praise the lord that there are not dead bodies laying around me at this time. Guest guest
I'm annoyed most of the things you find online when googling sarc talk about it going away on it's own & that usual line of garbage. Guest guest
I'll chime in here folks. I have ns without significant pulmonary involvement. The docs think they see something in the lungs but only if they look really, really close. The radiologist said they would have missed it if they didn't already have a dx of sarc. I've just quit smoking...again. Believe it or not, my sarc flares up everytime I quit. Not the run of the mill, I'm not feeling quite right flare up either. These are the someone hit me with a 2x4 type. I suppose that's what I get for messing around with my immune system. Realistically, I'm not certain which is worse...the prednisone with all the fun side effects or the long term effects of smoking. Figure it's a bad choice either way. Obviously I would never recommend that someone take up smoking...wish I never had. > > He didn't smoke..he chewed tobacco. They said it acted as an immune suppressent and when he stopped using it the sarcoid flared up. >
Guest guest
Right back at you girl. Congrats in quitting. Let see as long as we are not in the same room and there is no making us mad ......... well I think the group can handle it then.
