Guest guest
Hi Starlet, You might want to check with your doctor. I was only allowed full liquids my first couple weeks out. i.e. jello, puddying, broth, etc. you might be eating too much soft foods too fast. Good luck and God Bless!! Guest guest
Starlet, I'm so sorry you're having problems keeping food down, you poor thing! Have you called the doctor? Did they have suggestions? Have you tried sticking with protein shakes and liquids and gradually working back up to more solid foods? Guest guest
At 11 days out, I wasn't allowed to eat anything resembling food. I was still on a " full liquids " diet. Milk, protein shakes, smoothies, stuff like that. My surgeon told me that my stomach needed to heal before I could put food in it. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! in Indiana Open RNY 2/25/04 265.4/192/135 5'5 " Age 28 -- keep throwing up i am so upset i cannot keep much down... i have thrown up lima beans and crackers and crystal light.. i am so upset.. oh mash potatoas also.. i am getting sick of it.. it hurts my tummy when i do that,,, i am 11 days out of surgery.. any suggestion starlet

I think you are rushing the foods. Heck, I am in week 4 and still cannot get down an egg. Janet
Guest guest
I dont know about your doctor, but mine kept me on pure liquids or VERY VERY soft foods such as baby foods. I drank warmed chicken broth and kept it down well. From there went to s/f jello and s/f juices. I can not believe your doctor allowed lima beans at 11 days post op or crackers. You gotta let your insides heal properly before you try and make them work " regularly " again. It is going to take some time. I dont thinkthat I was on real puree's until my 3rd or 4th week. Take care!
