Guest guest
Something Kat suggested that I find good is ripe avocado with a little olive oil and salt on it. Lots of calories in them but it's still going to be very hard to not feel tired. I know i've gone back to stage 1/intro and I don't have so much energy. Other than that, can you tolerate eating lots of fruit or squash? Is that going to give you a reaction? If not, try making lots of butternut squash, mash it with as much butter salt and pepper as you like, and take that with you. It will last a long time at room temperature so you can bring some around with you. The more butter you add the more calories too. Or make the pumpkin pie filling out of it. IT's just mashed butternut squash or pumpkin, spices, eggs, and honey.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 8 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 12 pills a day Prednisone 40mg entocort With vit E mixed inBack to intro/stage 1 for now.To: BTVC-SCD From: andy.thestud@...Date: Sun, 21 Mar 2010 16:13:27 +0000Subject: Vegetarian SCD Hi- I need to go on a vegetarian SCD (yogurt ok, but no eggs/meat/poultry/fish) for four days this week for religious reasons of my mother and remembrance of my dad, who passed away last year this time. Can someone please give suggestions on how I do this. I do not have time to cook all day -- going to be busy work week. I can do yogurt-fruit smoothies, vegetable curry/soup, and almond milk. But there's not enough protein or calories in this. I have not tried lentils or beans yet -- that's one option. Do you think I'll be ok doing this for four days without losing energy? Any suggestions? Thanks, Andy. Hotmail: Trusted email with powerful SPAM protection. Sign up now.
Guest guest
Thanks, . I tolerate most fruits and veggies fine, including avocado. I am not traveling, so I don't have to worry about carrying things.
Guest guest
Milk products are okay. I don't have time or nor do I know how to make muffins. I guess I will go with smoothie in the morning, vegetable soup for lunch, and vegetables and almond mlk for dinner for 4 days. Any recipes on a rich vegetable soup is appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
What about vegetable stir frys with fresh garlic, onion, ginger, sesame oil, etc.? You could use any vegetables tolerated--broccoli crowns, yellow squash, zucchini, shredded carrots. Guest guest
Hi - I'm sure you'll get a lot of great suggestions. How about these: 1. SCD cheesecake made with dripped yogurt/DCCC 2. nut butters (can you tolerate them yet? they are easier for some to tolerate than are the nut flours) 3. http://www.elanaspantry.com/sesame-truffles/ If you don't have time to roll them into truffles, just eat the paste with a spoon. The paste takes a couple of minutes to make, and you can flavour it in different ways, for example, with cinnamon. Substitute honey for the agave nectar (illegal) - use 1 part honey for 1 part agave nectar.
