Sore throat, grouchy*, congestion, etc. One has had it amost two weeks. I don't want it! So what all 'good' could go into chicken soup? I had in mind 2 heads of garlic, lots of fresh ginger, young bunch of carrots, a whole onion, ACV, anything else? Sounds like you’ve thought of it all Lol ! Maybe add coconut oil to each bowl of soup, or up your coconut oil intake. I received an email about an onion being left in the bedroom overnight with someone who has flu/chest issues and the onion absorbed it. They said a doctor could see it under the microscope (bacteria). Snopes had mixed reviews. Anyone have thoughts on this? I’d put that into the ‘I need to see more science’ category before I accept that an onion can just absorb your bacteria. Anyway, flu is caused by a virus, not bacteria, although bacterial infection often follows or is present with the flu. Guest guest
Thanks for the responses! I love garlic cooked slowly in olive oil until it's crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside, it's so sweet. I bake chicken with a head of garlic all the time just to eat the garlic. I don't know if that kills the medicinal effect though. I'm going to try some of your suggestions though since the weather is just staying cold and people are getting sick. Spring colds tend to linger. I don't want anymore antibiotics--it always leads to that now when before I could take high doses of Vitamin C and knock it out in a day or two. Can't handle that now. The coconut butter is unbelievable. I wish I had found it sooner. I may have to stock up on it. For some reason, it makes me feel guilty ;-). It would be great in the soup and upping the dose won't be a problem. I'm even thinking of steamed broccoli with some on it. I use a tiny bit to fry eggs in it and just savor it.
