I don't usually pay too much attention to fat content in general, bcuz I know

that we malabsorb fats. Usually more concerned with carb content since we

absorb ALL the carb calories we eat. However, I don't know if the malabsorption

of fats decreases the bad effect of trans-fats (trans-fatty acids, partially

hydrogenated fats, etc). So I try to avoid anything with trans-fats, and I have

yet to come across a cracker that does not have them. (If anyone knows of

some, please advise). I was disappointed to find that the article in the above

link had only this one line reference to trans-fats:

Avoid partially hydrogenated fats as well, since they can raise cholesterol

levels the same way that saturated fats can

(Remember high cholesterol levels lead to blocked arteries and heart

disease).
