Hi I had upper ansd lower jaw surgery on 28th Jan. (upper raised and

lower advanced). I know that I still have to wait for the swelling to

disappear which will take time but I hope to get my cheekbones back

when the swelling goes. I seem to remember before the op reading a

post about someone that had gone through upper jaw surgery and

afterwards thinking that her cheekbones were more pronounced.

If anyone has read that post or has experienced swelling that

hid their cheekbones but their cheekbones have reappeared I would

love to know.

I have discovered that Easter Eggs (chocolate ones) are

superb to eat on a non chew diet. As the chocolate is so thin you

just pop the broken up bits of it into your mouth and let it melt on

the tongue. CADBURYS CHOCOLATE BUTTON EASTER EGGS are the best as the

chocolate is so thin.

My husband said to me " you used to have cheekbones before the

op but now they have disappeared. It's hard to tell whether it's due

to the swelling or all the easter eggs you have been eating!!

Please if you have any personal experiences on the

disappearing cheekbones that one day will hopefully return to normal

or even more pronounced I would love to hear.

thanks.

Hi

I know what you mean!! I had my surgery (upper/lower/genio/wisdom

teeth) 2 weeks before you on Jan. 14, and, while I never had really

pronounced cheek bones, those that I did have seem to have gone on a

little vacation... About two weeks ago I noticed that they were

coming back a litte.. I still have a residual blob of swelling on

one side of my face, which means that I have some cheekbone on one

side...and on the other half cheekbone, and half chubby round face.

Hard to describe I guess, sorry! I really hope it's from swelling at

least, I'll be upset if it never goes away!! I was really hoping for

more pronounced cheekbones, but...sigh... I guess that's not

happening. Anyhow, I do think that the residual swelling takes a

really long time to completely go away, so I don't think you need to

worry too too much yet, still plenty of time to get them back :)
