I had some of my plates/hardware removed 6 months after the initial

surgery. They removed the 2 center upper plates and the one from my

chin. It was not too bad at all. I had a little post-op pain and

minor swelling. Once you have been through the initial surgery it was

like nothing. Try not to worry, for my it was less painful then

having wisdom teeth out.

Why do people have plates out? What could happen that could cause a

problem? I have one screw that is far out and freaks me out but i

think i am going to have to live with it, as my OS says the risk of

going in for that one may not be worth it (its right below my eye)
