I didn't have one, thank heavens, but a lot of folks have.

Most have trouble speaking and eating, at least at first. But believe

it or not, most folks do get accustomed to the things, and even get

to the point that they no longer notice them.

I've seen some pretty impressive gaps; once the orthos went to work

on closing them, though, they closed up pretty quickly.

Try for patience. I know it must be hard, but keep at it.

If you look on my website you can pictures of me in the expander and

how big the gap became and how quicky it closed! It was annoying but

you do get used to it. eating was a hassle but you also get used to that.

cor you look fantastic......seems all worth it!

Yours is different to mine though, mine is like a retainer that is

cememnted in, leaving a nice blue gunge all around my fixed brace

and bottom of the plastic! (haven't seen anyone with this kind). I

have about the same gap as you and another 2mm on the next tooth.

Guess another two weeks is nothing really. Can't get over how

different you look, you are beaming! Roll on two weeks and

surgery!!
