Guest guest
I also had my upper jaw raised and the lower jaw moved foward. You are still very early in recovery and part of the problem with your lip is a result of swelling. I had my surgery Sept. 17th (6 months ago) and I think it took 4 months before it looked normal and not so tight or " tucked in " . Unfortunately, when the upper jaw is raised, it does usually reduce the size or fullness of the upper lip. I asked my surgeon about it and she said it happens to most people who have upper surgery and that she tries to make the lip stay as full as possible by doing a special stitch, but it can't really be prevented because of the fact that the lip now sits differently on the upper jaw. I luckily had large lips to begin with, and although I miss my full upper lip a bit, the overall effect i worth it. My doc said she offers injecting Restylane to her patients if their lips thin out afterward, but that's only temporary. I don't think I'll do that though, because I'm just wary of that type of stuff. Good luck. --ALicia > > Had surgery on 28th january.
