Guest guest
I am glad that he doesn't have an open sore and hopefully the extra padding will do the trick! Grace's sore was quite bad, open and weeping. She was on an antibiotic at the time so we wern't concerned about it becoming infected, it was pretty awful, but did heal really fast, she had outgrown her cast...she had a pretty big growth spurt, and looking back, man was she fat hehehe, didn't see it so much at the time though of course lol. & Grace > > > > > > > > > > Ok, here I am with more questions. Guest guest
So true! I look at those pics now and it just makes me sick!! Poor little thing! Just glad that we took it off when we did! I should have taken it off the day before when I noticed that she was extra fussy but her toes seemed OK and I was so worried about loosing precious correction. I almost fainted when we did remove it...OK, I am a bit of a drama queen, faint with needles still sometimes hehe but it was a shock! I couldn't believe that it healed so quickly though, our kids are just so resilient!! & Grace > > > > > > > > > > Ok, here I am with more questions. Guest guest
My daughter is almost 4 months and has been in many casts, she has NEVER gotten a sore or blister. Maybe other parents have had this experience, but I would definitely watch out about that. Is your son crying like the sore is bothering him? novemberfable wrote:Ok, here I am with more questions. Have any of your children developed sores from the casts? My son got a sore on the top of his foot from his first cast. The doctor felt it would be ok to continue with casting and just not apply as much pressure to that sore area. He also added a lot more padding on top of the sore. I am so worried about it now. It makes it hard not being able to see if it is healing or getting worse. His second cast doesn't come off until Monday.
