Have you tried Spectrum Natural's palm oil spread in the tub? We finally

found it and like it. Works fine for baking and tastes fine spread

lightly on toast, too. (Thanks to for this suggestion!)

There was a lot of back-and-forth on this one (I followed most of it) but

what I got out of the whole debate was that it's probably not worth the

risk, since the places that make the Ghee, or clarified butter, do not

necessarily use manufacturing lines free of cross-contamination

risks....in other words, there's no 100% guarantee. To do at home it

would be impossible to be 100%, either. And just plain old real butter

is definitely not free of casein. That's what I understood from all the

dialogue (so I only use Spectrum now)....correct me if I'm wrong, all you

experts out there! (oh, no, we don't want to start the debate all over

again! :o))
